Regina Fredriksson was born and grew up in Lidköping in Sweden. She was educated at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, graduating in voice in 2013 with professors Hanna Hjort and Eva Hess Thaysen, and is now freelancing as a soloist. She sang the soprano part in Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini and other roles include L’enfant in L’enfant et les sortilèges, a nun in Dialouges des carmelitès by Poulenc, Ninfa in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo and second witch in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. Regina’s solo repertoire consists of everything from baroque to comtemporary music, but she is particularly skilled in bel canto and the Italian repertoire as verismo. After one performance: “Has an ability of large dimensions and the future of light. Her way of express her voice varied between the tranquil and the delightfulness to the explosive character of her voice that surprised” In addition to Nymphaea vocal ensemble, Regina is a member of Klerkekoret which performs early choir music from the Renaissance and early Baroque era, and Tetersolaris which performs new works including the newly composed opera oratorium 13 Oder til Maria. In addition to singing, Regina played the flute for 9 years and classical piano for 6 years, and has studied ballet, comtemporary and jazz dance, and drama.
